A gang of five diverse oddball criminal types rent a two room apartment in an isolated house on a London cul-de-sac from an octogenarian widow with three pet parrots. The group's mastermind, Professor Marcus, tells her a cover story that they are members of an amateur string quintet and would like to use the rooms to hone their musical skills. In reality, they are plotting to rob a bank and plan to use Mrs. Wilberforce's naiveté and her Victorian sensibilities to their advantage.

Roman slave Lurkio becomes inattentively the owner of a scroll, the suggested murderers of the emperor Nero calling. Administering to the participants of the orgy company of his master seems small in comparison to the difficulties which the scroll brings - but everybody is in for an execrable push if rack Vesuvius for it decides to break out. Römischer Sklave Lurkio wird unachtsam der Besitzer einer Schriftrolle, die vorgeschlagenen Mörder des Kaisers Nero nennend. Das Verwalten den Teilnehmern der Orgie-Gäste seines Masters scheint klein im Vergleich zu den Schwierigkeiten, die die Schriftrolle bringt - aber alle sind in für einen scheußlichen Stoß, wenn sich Gestell Vesuv dafür entscheidet auszubrechen.
