The Curse

In this second adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s story “The Colour out of Space,” a huge, glowing meteorite falls on a farm in Tellico Plains, Tennesse. After the meteorite melts into the soil, strange mutations occur on the farm. The fruit and livestock become filled with maggots, cabbage and chickens become filled with green slime, and certain members of the farm family become swollen, slime-drooling mutants. Now two of the farmer’s children who wisely avoided the meteorite’s contamination seek outside help.

Rita Rizzoli is a narcotics cop with a plethora of disguises. When a drug shipment is hijacked, the thieves don’t know that the drug is unusually pure and packs of ‘Fatal Beauty’ begin turning up next to too many dead bodies. Mike works for the original owner of the drugs and tries to tell himself that since he does not handle the drugs, he is ‘clean’. Mike becomes Rita’s constant companion as the drug hijackers (who are nearly psychotic and very well armed) are hunted, while more and more bodies continue to turn up.

Maria proves to be a very cute young woman, and Chris, who bugs her appartment as Telephone-Bill, falls for her. Now, everytime he is with her, his partner has to watch his friend enjoy life and he himself has to get out before the other team comes in. But when Maria’s ex arrives surprisingly, Telephone Bill and his partner find themselves in deep trouble.

The year is 2017. The world economy has collapsed. The United States has sealed off it’s borders and has become a military controlled police state which controls TV, movies, art, books, communication and censorship. In the police state America has become, criminals have a choice. They can serve their sentences in prison or they can take part in “The Running Man” a government owned violent game-show where contestants running for freedom are pursued by “Stalkers” wrestler-like bounty hunters. “The Running Man” is the top rating show on network TV and Damon Killian, the creator and host is the most popular entertainer in the US. But one man has yet to play… Former L.A. police officer Ben Richards, framed for the massacre of innocent people, when disobeyed orders is recaptured, after escaping from prison. Ben is forced to appear on “The Running Man”, joined by resistance fighters William Laughlin and Harold Weiss and Amber Mendez, (a network employee who Richards took hostage and she turned Richards into the authorities) are chased by The Stalkers, as they search for the secret base of the resistance, as they bid to broadcast the truth about the government and prove Ben’s innocence.
