Plot Summary: Lieutenant. John Dunbar is dubbed a hero after it links acidentalmente it takes troops of Union to a victory during the Civil war. He asks for a position as for the western frontier, but it thinks that it deserted. He soon discovers that he is not alone, but find a wolf he dubs "Two stockings" and a tribe Indian snooper. Dunbar quickly does friends with to tribe, and discovers a white woman who was educated by the Indians. He gradually gains the respect of these native persons, and lopping ways of his honest man.
