Plot Summary: The policeman of Nova Iorque John McClane, who was police during 11 years, has just brought the Los Angeles near in the Christmas Eva. During last six months, the wife Holly de John and his two children Lucy McClane and John McClane Júnior have been living in Los Angeles without John. In Nova Iorque, the Holly had a good job that was turned into a run, and the Holly was promoted to a powerful position in the Corporation Nakatomi. The promotion asked the Holly to move for Los Angeles to work in the public Square Nakatomi, 40 history building. John stayed in Nova Iorque because he did not think that he would decipher the Holly in Los Angeles, and that she would come tracking him behind in Nova Iorque, so John understood that there was no reason to pack up his things of the movement to Los Angeles. A driver of limousine called Argyle directs John to the public Square Nakatomi, and John heads to the 30th floor, where a party of Christmas is continuing. John enters in an argument with the Holly in the office of his collaborator that Harry Ellis inhales the drug because the Holly uses his name of single woman Gennero instead of the name McClane in his plate identificadora in his office. The holly leaves the room to give a speech. While John is alone in the office, John is lamenting that the argument had happened. Some minutes then, a group of German terrorists driven by Hans Gruber and his man of right hand Karl introduces the building and everyone takes hostage in the 30th floor. John is able to avoid the hostage to be taken because Hans and his men even do not know that John is in the building. John heads to the superior floors, which are still below the construction. Hans takes the chief Joseph Yashinobo Takagi of Holly to an office, where Hans demands that Takagi gives him the key of code of computer that there will allow to Hans and his men to begin to open the safe of the building so they can steal US$ 640,000,000 in negotiable obligations of bearer that are in the safe. Takagi refuses to cooperate with Hans, so Hans kills Takagi, and John witnesses it. Hans says that his expert of technology Theo to begin to influence getting the safe if it opened, and Theo thinks that a couple of hours will be needed to do it. John frantically tries to find a way of alerting the LAPD, carrying out that the principal telephone lines in the building were cut. As soon as the police officers really arrive, they result to be incompetent below the order of the arrogant deputy Dwayne T of the chief. Robinson, so he is up to John to rescue the hostages.
