Plot Summary: It is the time of Crusades during the Middle Ages - the world forming the collision of 200 years between Europe and the East. A called blacksmith Balian lost the family and almost the faith. The religious wars raging in the distant Holy land seem to it distant, still he is drawn in this huge drama. Among the pomp and the intrigues of medieval Jerusalem it falls in love, a leader becomes and uses finally all his courage and skill to defend the city against unsteady quotation. Destiny comes by searching Balian in the form of a big knight, Godfrey d' Ibelin, a Crusader shortly at home in France to struggle in the East. By showing himself as the father of Balian, Godfrey shows him the true meaning of chivalry and gets it on a trip across continents from the fabulous Holy City. In Jerusalem at this moment - between the Second and third Crusades - a fragile peace predominates, by efforts of his lighted Christian king, Baldwin IV, helped by his adviser Tiberias and the military pressure of the legendary Muslim leader Saladin. But the days of Baldwin are numbered and efforts of fanaticism, avarice and the jealousy among the Crusaders threatens to smash truce. The vision of king Baldwin of peace - a kingdom of sky - is shared by one handle of knights, by including Godfrey d' Ibelin, who swear to support him with their lives and honour. As Godfrey crosses his sword to his son, he also transmits this sacred oath: to protect the powerless, protect peace and job towards harmony between religions and cultures, so that a kingdom of sky could thrive on the earth. Balian takes the sword and the steps in history.
C'est le temps des Croisades pendant le moyen Âge - le monde formant la collision de 200 années entre l'Europe et l'Est. Un forgeron appelé Balian a perdu sa famille et presque sa foi. Les guerres religieuses faisant rage dans la Terre Sainte lointaine lui semblent lointaines, encore il est tiré dans ce drame immense. Parmi la pompe et les intrigues de Jérusalem médiéval il tombe amoureux, devient un chef et utilise finalement tout son courage et habileté pour défendre la ville contre la cote chancelante. Le destin vient en cherchant Balian dans la forme d'un grand chevalier, Godfrey d'Ibelin, un Croisé brièvement à la maison en France de lutter à l'Est. En se révélant comme le père de Balian, Godfrey lui montre le vrai sens de chevalerie et le prend sur un voyage à travers les continents à la Ville Sainte fabuleuse. À Jérusalem à ce moment - entre les Deuxièmes et Troisièmes Croisades - une paix fragile prédomine, par les efforts de son roi chrétien éclairé, Baldwin IV, aidé par son conseiller Tiberias et la contrainte militaire du chef musulman légendaire Saladin. Mais les jours de Baldwin sont numérotés et les efforts de fanatisme, avarice et la jalousie parmi les Croisés menace de fracasser la trêve. La vision de roi Baldwin de paix - un royaume de ciel - est partagé par un poignée de chevaliers, en incluant Godfrey d'Ibelin, qui jurent le soutenir avec leurs vies et honneur. Comme Godfrey passe son épée à son fils, il transmet aussi ce serment sacré : pour protéger l'impuissant, protégez la paix et le travail vers l'harmonie entre les religions et les cultures, pour qu'un royaume de ciel puisse prospérer sur la terre. Balian prend l'épée et les pas dans l'histoire.
