Plot Summary: In the year 2013 the civilization has been destroyed almost. After a war that there decimated the government and most of the population of the United States (possibly the world) the people strain for surviving against famine and groups of rascal of armed men. They call some group the Holnists. This group is bigger than some another and his leader, General Bethlehem, he has illusions of the mistake the country. A drifter (Costner) is captured by the group and forced to join. He escapes in the first possibility and jeep meets a mail with a skeleton in it. The skeleton takes a postal uniform and the drifter takes it to keep him warm. He also finds a post office big sack and begins to cheat the people with old letters. The hope he sees in the people that he delivers to changes his projects and he they decide that he must help to reduce the Holnists.
En el año 2013 la civilización se ha destruido casi. Después de que una guerra que diezmó el gobierno y la mayor parte de la población de los Estados Unidos (posiblemente el mundo) la gente se esfuerza por sobrevivir contra hambre y grupos de pícaro de hombres armados. Llaman un tal grupo el Holnists. Este grupo es más grande que alguno otro y su líder, Belén General, tiene ilusiones del fallo el país. Una trainera (Costner) es capturada por el grupo y obligada a unirse. Él se escapa en la primera posibilidad y se encuentra con un correo jeep con un esqueleto en ello. El esqueleto lleva un uniforme postal y la trainera lo toma para guardarle caliente. Él también encuentra una saca de correos y comienza a engañar a la gente con viejas cartas. La esperanza él ve en la gente que él entrega a cambios sus proyectos y él deciden que él debe ayudar a rebajar el Holnists.
